Karwaan By The Ganges

The river view is beautiful, and being able to watch the Ganga Aarti from the hotel was a nice part of our stay. It's also conveniently close to Laxman Jhula and Trayambakeshwar Temple. Still, the stay didn't feel worth what we paid. Getting to the hotel was confusing because the road is often barricaded and guests may need help from the hotel to get through. They should explain that beforehand. Our room was clean but small for the price, the TV didn't work, and the washroom smelled unpleasant. The cafe was a letdown too. Service was slow, and the sandwiches, juices and pasta we ordered were poor quality for the price. The bike rental assistance they offered also seemed expensive compared with local rates. At checkout, staff weren't warm or helpful, and they didn't assist with our suitcases at all. The property's river view is lovely, but service, food and value need improvement.

The private balcony was the best part of our stay at Hotel Karwaan by the Ganges. It looks out to the Ganga ghat, and the atmosphere is especially peaceful in the evening. The hotel is right by the River Ganga and about 200 meters from Laxman Jhula, a location that stood out to me after staying at several Rishikesh hotels. Our room was decent and comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and hot water was available around the clock. Staff were cooperative, service went smoothly, and the food was good. They arranged a bonfire when we asked and helped us get a scooty, which made getting around easy. The one disappointment was the Jacuzzi in the best room I booked. It took ages to fill, and its features didn't work, so it was basically a regular bathtub. Besides that, it felt totally paisa vasool. It's a peaceful place with one of the best balcony views near Laxman Jhula, and I'd recommend it. Location: 5/5. View: 5/5. Room: 4/5. Cleanliness: 4/5. Food: 4/5. Staff: 4/5.

The food was really awesome, and our neat, clean premium room had a balcony looking right toward Sai ghat. I stayed for two nights with my wife and two kids. It's an easy walk to Laxman Jhula and the market area, and the location and lovely view are about as good as you could hope for in Rishikesh. One of the best hotels there.

We had a wonderful stay, and it was my first introduction to this area. The staff were friendly and helpful, and tailored yoga classes are available on site. The food was very tasty and nicely served. Our room and terrace looked out over the Ganga river and the bridge, and the location in Tapovan was great.
