The staff were rude and indifferent, and there was virtually no customer service. The place felt focused only on revenue, with little care for guests' comfort or dignity. I paid about ₹4500 and got a cramped, foul-smelling room that was badly maintained. The bathroom seemed cheap and neglected, and the cockroaches and constant mosquitoes made sleep impossible. I travel often, but this was one of the most uncomfortable stays I've had. I came back to Hotel Anurag, Rourkela because I'd stayed there before and thought I knew what to expect. That was a mistake. Nearby hotels can be cleaner and more respectful for the same or less money, so don't trust the appearance or past reputation. Please beware. God bless your property 🙏🏽

A must for foodies who like lots of starter choices. It's a fully vegetarian restaurant, the menu has so much variety, the food quality is superb, and service is quick. The staff are very helpful too.
Gokul, the small restaurant on the ground floor, has decent breakfast you can order. The bed and linens were clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean too, but it needed plenty of repairs and an upgrade. Cracks, stains, and holes showed up in the bathroom and in parts of the room. The hotel sits in a narrow lane very close to Rourkela station, so it might work for a business traveler on a tight budget who needs to be nearby. My night-shift check-in clerk was rude when I arrived late because of a delayed train, even though I'd told the hotel. I was worn out after a long day of travel and work, so I kept quiet and went to bed. The hotel is poorly maintained. I'd say skip it if you have another option. I didn't.
The food was bad and the service too. The hotel hadn't delivered on its food commitment, and booking it felt like a total waste of money. My phone and the TV weren't working, and the bed wasn't clean. From my experience, this is more like a domestic hotel, not a place for an office or family stay. A railway station would be a better place to stay.
At check-in, the hotel management asked for a marriage certificate or wedding photos. I've never seen a hotel ask for those instead of Aadhaar, voter ID, or a driver's license.
