Hotel Maruthi by OYO Rooms

I booked through booking.com, and there was no policy or restriction shown saying the place was only for locals. When my dad arrived, they refused him a room and left him standing there for three hours. booking.com took its time looking into the issue and then replied: “We've reviewed your report and found that according to your booking, your reservation isn't eligible to have these terms honoured.”

Even if this were the last hotel standing after an apocalypse, I wouldn’t come back. They call it a family hotel, but it’s beside a huge, stinky drainage, with a bar attached and drunk people across the road. The basics were missing: no towels, soap, hot water, or blankets, and the bedsheets were dirty. There was just a thin sheet because it was a non-A/C room, which OYO hadn’t mentioned. They also have a rule of one towel per room even with two guests. They gave us a water heater, but no holder to put it in the bucket, so I had to bathe in cold water. There were no basic amenities.

We’d confirmed we’d arrive at 9 PM and check out at 8 PM the next day, and customer service at yoyo told us our booking was for 24 hours. The hotel owner said they don’t offer 24-hour stays. We ended up having to pay another 600 rs after the service provider misled us.

The rooms were poor quality, there was no room service, and they didn’t provide any amenities. It felt like a bar lodge, and I wouldn’t recommend it for families. Avoid this place.
