Mastiff Grand La Villae Resort

We’re on our second day here, and I’m writing this as a pretty frustrated guest. We spent over three hours telling staff there was no water, but nothing was fixed. They said they’d send RO water as a stopgap, and it never arrived. We also had our food orders delivered on time, which makes it feel like paid extras get attention while housekeeping is neglected. On arrival the first day, the washroom was dirty and the jet spray had no water pressure. After a long journey we had to ask for basic cleaning before we could use the room. This is listed as a 4-star property on Google, but even a 2-star hotel would have better housekeeping. It seems the issue is how the resort is managed, rather than the housekeeping staff themselves. There’s an ongoing wedding on site, and it looks like most staff have been assigned to that, leaving regular guests without enough support. Basic things like water and bathroom supplies shouldn’t take repeated follow-ups. Some parts of the property are decent, but the service has been very poor and frustrating. Not worth what we paid.

The rooms are the one good thing here. The rest is pretty average, and staying disconnected gets old fast. There’s no mobile network anywhere on the property, and the 5-6 Wi-Fi routers they use still provide painfully slow internet. I couldn’t even do a simple Google search without getting irritated. I’m done with this place, so choose carefully.

The place is well maintained, with large rooms and great food. One thing to know: they play music very loudly through the evening. If you want somewhere quiet and focused on nature, this probably won’t suit you. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time.

At 1:30 in the morning I stepped outside for a walk, and the moonlight on the hills and trees was a charming sight. We also heard strange bird calls and saw herons and other unusual birds; there were no pigeons or crows, and occasionally you could spot a kite. Our group of 40 came from March 1 to March 5, 2026, to celebrate my daughter’s Golden Jubilee birthday anniversary. The resort itself was excellent: tidy rooms, very clean sheets and towels, enough toiletries, prompt service, and a lovely view from the room. There were plenty of indoor and outdoor activities, plus a swimming pool. Meals had a superb range of dishes. Breakfast and high tea in the dining hall were included, while lunch and dinner cost extra. The drive, especially after Bhushi Dam, was lovely, with trees and hills that lifted my spirits. I’m not just giving a sales pitch here, but do check Google before booking.
