Peace Lily Cottage

There were repeated power cuts at night, and the backup was damaged. With no lights, emergency lamps, or torches, being in complete darkness after sunset was frightening and uncomfortable. Electricity is a basic necessity at a resort. It felt more like camping than a relaxing holiday.

The food was delicious, but expensive, and it was prepared outside the bungalow and brought in. There are no restaurants nearby. The owner runs a nursery business, so there are lots of plants around, but there’s no view from the bungalow. There’s only one room beside the main bungalow. The other room in the main building isn’t properly accessible, it’s like a mezzanine floor. Parking isn’t adequate either, and the bungalow doesn’t feel worth the price. Not a great place, and one you can skip.

20k for one night feels a bit steep. Don’t count on the food, just order on zomato.

Getting from Thane to Karjat by train was easy, and the taxi from the station to Peace Lily took about 10 comfortable minutes. Once we arrived, the garden nursery around the house and the thoughtfully done interiors made it feel like stepping into a warm home surrounded by nature. The place was spotless and clearly well looked after. The caretakers were kind, patient, and always available when we needed something, and Mr Vivek brought us delicious home-cooked food and was very accommodating. We did have a few power cuts, but the weekend was still better than we expected and gave my friends and me just the break we wanted from the busy city. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it.
