Sterling Stolen Heaven Lonavala

We went in expecting the worst after reading all the negative reviews, but the stay turned out to be smooth and enjoyable from arrival through checkout. The security guards, restaurant team, and reception staff were all kind and helpful, and the food was tasty and hygienic. Getting around is the main drawback: the hotel is far from the city, so you need your own vehicle or have to use its taxi or auto arrangement, which is extremely expensive. Apart from that, we had a great time and would like to stay again.

The staff at Stolen Heaven, Lonavala were friendly, respectful, and ready to help without hovering, and the food was fresh, comforting, and nicely prepared. We found the rooms spacious and very clean, with thoughtful details throughout. The property is gorgeous and well looked after, with nature all around and a calm, private feel that made it easy to leave the city noise behind. A good pick for a peaceful break with privacy, a premium feel, and welcoming service. I’d happily go back and recommend it.

We spent 2 nights at Stolen Heaven and had a mostly good stay. The frustrating part was housekeeping. Before going out, we asked the receptionist to have our room cleaned while we were away, but it hadn’t been done when we returned. She said she’d send someone, and the staff member arrived almost half an hour later. We didn’t expect that from Sterling. The bedsheets weren’t changed either, just straightened. Even so, the stay was good overall, and it’s definitely worth considering for 2 to 3 nights. Recommended.

The only part of the resort we really liked was the outdoor space. The greenery, play zone, pool, and bicycles were all well maintained. The rest of our stay at Sterling Lonavala – Stolen Heaven was a letdown, especially for a place presented as luxury. We had a 2 BHK, but the rooms were very basic and poorly maintained, and didn’t match the photos. There were stains and wear on the doors, damaged wardrobe ply, and neglected washrooms. Loose granite slabs in the washroom injured my child, a serious safety failure for a family resort. Service was the worst part. Calls to room service and housekeeping went unanswered, and reception kept sending us to numbers nobody picked up. Even small requests took 45 minutes to over an hour after repeated follow-ups. The bar they advertise was closed at 9 PM. Someone eventually opened it after we asked several times, but there was no music, atmosphere, or hospitality, just mechanical service. They seemed so uninterested that we left without using it. The food was average, overpriced, and repetitive, with a very limited menu. There wasn’t a single local Maharashtrian dish. Day after day it was basic fare like paneer, mix veg, and kadhi pakora, more like a basic shaadi buffet than resort dining. Mr. Heera Lal did try to accommodate a few special requests, which I appreciated, but the food had no wow factor. The place felt misleading and badly managed, with none of the luxury it promises. The name feels painfully accurate, the “heaven” seems stolen. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially to families looking for comfort, safety, and premium hospitality.
