The Satpura Panchtatva Villa

Avoid this property. The rooms were dirty, the place wasn’t maintained, and there was no food available for kids or anyone else. They didn’t even have mineral water. No one was at reception, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work.

The one villa has four rooms, two per floor, and they were all tidy and comfortable. Food was wholesome and hygienic, with the option to arrange a personalized meal. The attentive, hospitable staff helped make the stay pleasant. The hotel sits beside the Denwa backwater, with breathtaking views across lush greenery. It was a tranquil, enjoyable visit, although the parking could be improved, as could the landscaping in the villa’s backyard overlooking the water.

The staff were very cooperative and looked after us well. Our rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, and the overall stay was fine. The chef is only available for a short time, and the food was average. The muddy approach road made it difficult to walk to nearby sites from the hotel. The AC wasn’t working because of an electricity malfunction. There’s no network in the area apart from Airtel and bsnl. With a few changes, the place could be developed well.

Rain had turned everything green, and from our balcony the river flowed calmly in front of us, with core forest on the opposite bank and cloud-covered hills beyond. The view was splendid and the setting so quiet that it was easy to forget the noise and bustle of the world. With only four rooms, the small size means more space, calm and personal attention from the staff. We stayed upstairs for the balcony view. The rooms are simple but tastefully decorated, clean and very comfortable, and the toilets were sparkling. The food was wonderful, good Indian home-style cooking. We even picked organic vegetables from the kitchen garden for our lunches and dinners. We also got to play a little cricket in the nets, since kit was available, and badminton outdoors. Mr. Ingesh Singh manages the place. He’s well-read and told us firsthand about the region’s history and social structure. We found him gentle, polite and well-cultured, and his English was good enough that Hindi wasn’t necessary for us. An exquisite, calm and tranquil stay. I’d give it five stars without hesitation, if only there were more stars to give.
