Maneland Jungle Lodge

Manisha Rajput’s stories and experiences were a highlight for us. She’s a keen nature lover, very knowledgeable, and has been connected with Gir forest and its people for more than three decades. She and her team welcomed us with tea and snacks, and the staff were caring, friendly, and efficient. We came to Jungle Lodge Manland resort, Gir for a relaxing family getaway close to Gir National Park. The lodge is only a few meters from the park, surrounded by lush greenery and varied flora and fauna. We stayed in a spacious, well equipped luxury villa with an authentic old school design. For Diwali, the team decorated it beautifully with diyas. The food was delicious, hygienic, and authentic, and we loved the cosy dining setup. The sunsets and birdsong made the setting feel magical, and being so close to the park was a lovely experience. We left feeling refreshed. I wish Manisha and her team all the best with their future work here.

We were lucky to spot a lion on route 5 in the Gir Lion reserve after our 5 am pickup for the safari we’d booked there. The lodge is also close to Devalia safari park. Back at the property, we spotted a few peacocks, enjoyed an evening bonfire, and found the pool at the back good too. The stone construction gives the place a distinctive haveli look. Our clean room had a private balcony. Breakfast early in the morning was great, especially the theplas or parathas with ghee, and the tea was refreshing. All in all, a very nice stay.

We were lucky enough to spot a leopard and jackals, and at night we could hear wild animals. The resort is deep inside the forest, which makes for a great location for nature lovers. The staff were very cooperative, and the food was tasty, made to your choice. Manager Dev Patel was a great host who made us feel at home and took care of everything. We left with a bag full of memories.

The food was delicious and homely, and the staff took good care of us throughout our stay. We found the rooms comfortable and the bathrooms clean. It was an easy, comfortable stay at Maneland Jungle Lodge, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Sasan Gir.
