Ranthambore Regency Hotel

The food and the helpful staff made this a relaxing stop on our organised safari tour. Both the buffet breakfast and dinner were really good, and though the hotel isn’t billed as “luxury,” our room was excellent, with a beautiful new bathroom. Everyone from the manager to the housekeeper seemed keen to help. In the evening there was a laid-back feel, with a brazier fire and local entertainment. I’m not sure if that’s always offered or just for tour groups. Alcohol prices were okay, and the hotel is not too far from the national park. One morning, a staff member, presumably new, was switching things off while trying to turn off a verandah light and ended up switching off the room master switches outside. It only lasted a few seconds, but it might be useful feedback for training. Our own room’s aircon power switch was in an odd spot, so we missed it the first night. The manager fixed it right away the next day. The temperature was fine until around 5am, and we had to get up early anyway, so it didn’t spoil our stay. I’d suggest checking that switch before each guest arrives. This was my favourite hotel of the trip, and I’d recommend it.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was outstanding. In two weeks in India, we hadn’t come across such a good choice or quality. Our four-night stay was very enjoyable, with clean, spacious rooms and an outstanding bathroom. We used most of the facilities: the gym is small but adequate, while the pool felt a bit chilly, though it was cold over New Year. The hotel put on a fun NYE gala dinner dance and arranged safaris in the park. Take coats for the morning, as it can get very cold. We highly recommend the hotel.

We felt safe and very welcome here. On arrival, we got marigold flower garlands and hot towels, and the polite, attentive staff even offered to cater to my needs at meals. The food was great, and it was nice having high tea by the pool. I loved the shower, and the rooms were great. I didn’t get around to using the pool, spa, or gym amenities, though. Definitely next time 😁

After the tiger safari and visit to the fort, the pool was just right for cooling off. The hotel had arranged the safari, and we were lucky enough to see two tigers. They also organized a car to take us to Jaipur. We enjoyed the restaurant food, and the staff were fantastic, friendly, and accommodating. It felt like a beautiful, elegant, peaceful break from the dusty streets. Highly recommend it, and we’ll return.
