Dera Jawai

Kal os, their guard dog, was a real highlight. He was friendly with everyone, gently playful, and so well-mannered. He even came along on a short neighbourhood walk, where we met welcoming villagers and children. That made the visit feel personal and connected to the area. The owner, staff, and chef were all kind and attentive. They made sure there was a mix of meat and vegetable dishes at every meal, and everything we tried was among the best food we've had on our travels. We had a memorable stay at Dera Jawai and would recommend it to visitors. The price, especially with breakfast and dinner included, is higher than many places we've booked in India, though the hospitality, food, and experience helped make it feel worthwhile.

The safari was a real thrill. Riding through the hillocks was beautiful, and we spotted a leopard both times. The landscape around the safari zone was lovely, with a different feel from a jungle safari. The rooms were quiet, neat, and clean, and we enjoyed the property and its setting. Service and food were excellent too. We had a wonderful stay.

The hill views were a treat, especially while having breakfast or evening tea there. The owner's constant presence added something extra to the stay, and the hospitality was top notch. Our luxury tent was clean and well kept, and the food was prepared well. I'd recommend staying here.

The food at Dera Jawai was so good, especially the range of halwas. We loved trying all the varieties. Ravi ji and his team were humble, polite, and always helpful. The property itself is beautiful and feels worth a stay for the sense of calm. We'd happily come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Jawai.
