OYO 24397 Flagship 9 Star Hotel Shamshabad

The toilets smelled, and the landline was broken. The basin drained poorly, the bathroom faucets leaked, and the flush did not work. Cupboard handles were broken, the AC was out, and the bed linen was very dirty. They offered no water bottle. There was no breakfast on site; if you asked, they ordered a plate for 50 rupees from a roadside hotel. The hotel has given itself the nine stars mentioned above, so I’ll give it the remaining one. If you want to see how a hotel should not be run, visit here. I don’t understand its four-star ratings on Google and OYO. RIP reviewers, OYO, and Flagship OYO hotels.

The only real plus was being near the airport. Otherwise, it wasn’t a great stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it. The staff were dismissive and didn’t resolve the problems. There was no WiFi and no TV signal. The rooms were smaller than the website photos suggested, and the pillow covers weren’t clean. We got complimentary water bottles just once during our four days. Breakfast was the same every day, not served hot, and only okay in taste.

The hotel can be hard to find, though it’s very close to the airport. The room, bed, and bathroom were clean and well kept, and they cleaned the room every day. Service was quick, and the food tasted good without being too spicy. Hot water wasn’t available because of the cloudy weather, but management promptly brought a heater. The facilities were good overall. One small gripe: they wouldn’t accept card payments for food. Breakfast is vegetarian, and eggs cost extra if you order them.

For the price, I was surprised by how nice the room was. It came with a TV, small fridge, AC, face wash, and body wash, so you can’t really ask for much more at that cost. The staff were great, and the buffet breakfast was included. An awesome experience all around.
