Living Roof by OYO Rooms

The owners were incredibly helpful and put together a five-day Meghalaya itinerary for us. We really needed that help. The cafe terrace has a lovely view, and the coffee is delicious. It’s in a peaceful spot, and the bed was very comfortable. Such a great place, I’d definitely recommend staying here.

Lassi, their furry little baby, is so friendly, and the owner and helper were both great. I stayed for two nights. The rooms were clean and tidy, with some being quite spacious, and both the service and food were good. My one issue was the hot water. There’s a geyser in each room, but even after leaving it on for 30-40 minutes, the water was only lukewarm.

The staff were really friendly and accommodating, and the food was incredibly tasty. The Living Roof Hotel in Shillong, Meghalaya had a fantastic atmosphere and turned out even better than I’d expected.

MMT refunded the payment, but only after a mess that made our trip start terribly. I’d booked two double bedrooms two months ahead and paid online. The booking process was smooth, and when I called MMT customer care twice to confirm, they said the rooms were booked. Then, the day before check-in, while we were all on the train, someone from MMT called to say the booking had to be cancelled because of a technical problem. We asked for another hotel in the same category, but they couldn’t offer one and just insisted we take the money back. A really awful experience with both MMT and the hotel.
