Hotel Springfields

It’s a 1902 heritage property, very well maintained and suited to anyone who likes a calm, quiet setting. Rooms are quite large and have all amenities, while the common rooms have lovely sofas and chandeliers. There’s a nice lawn and a big rooftop with a beautiful swing, where you can take in the mountains, valley, and sunrise. Keep in mind it’s in Chota Shimla, 3/4 km from The Mall.

For a heritage property dating back to 1902, it’s been maintained exceptionally well. The mountain view from the room was very good, and the food had a rare level of taste for the mountains. Rooms are spacious, clean, and the atmosphere, service, and staff were all top notch. The staff were especially polite and helpful. Highly recommended in Shimla.

The location is good, but the room needs major work. The mattress, cushions, and curtains weren’t clean, and the washroom was dirty with a sewage problem at the washbasin. Room service was very slow. Prices were charged very high because it was a busy period.

It’s quiet and away from the crowds, with good food and nice rooms. The bathrooms have a traditional style, as you’d expect in a heritage property. In winter, though, the single-rod heater doesn’t warm the room enough, and the blankets are low quality and not warm enough for the cold. A modern heating option such as hot/cold AC would be better. The bathroom soap and other toiletries are poor quality too. During peak season, it doesn’t feel like good value for money.
