Hotel Sunshine Regency by Goroomgo

We only stayed two days, then changed hotels. There was enough space in the room, but the service was third class and the staff’s attitude was awful. When I asked for the heater at 10 pm, the person on night duty was asleep and told me, “Why are you bothering me this late at night?” That’s exactly when we needed it, since we were out sightseeing during the day. The geyser was also pathetic. It took half an hour to heat, and then there was only one bucket of hot water. For more, we’d have had to wait another half hour. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

We left just five minutes after checking in. The owner quoted one price for a one-day stay, then the person at reception gave us another when we arrived. It’s a long way from central Shimla, and something about the place felt odd. The receptionist seemed intent on getting us to sign and take the room. At one point he got overly familiar, while another staff member was very rude and interrupted our conversation. A very bad experience. Not recommended.

For the price, the room was good and the food was good too. Staff were polite, provided good service, and sorted out our concerns about the geyser and heater. The geyser in our room wasn’t working properly, though, so the staff arranged another room where we could freshen up. I stayed one night.

We spent just one night there on 14 June. It’s a budget-friendly hotel right on the highway. The intercom only starts working after 7:30 am, and I think they should have had an electric kettle in the room.
