The restaurant deserves a mention: the buffet and à la carte choices were superb, and they took dietary needs into account. Mukul, the restaurant manager, clearly cares about quality and his team. Tanushree, Amber, Sylvester, and Meren were all commendable, as were the kitchen staff and their excellent chefs. We were also impressed by Oberoi's commitment to its individualized training programme and recognized qualifications. This was my second visit, and the hotel still doesn’t disappoint. It’s well placed for sightseeing, a restful break, or a quick getaway. The heritage property is beautifully appointed inside and out, and our suite was stunning and comfortable. From my earlier visit, I can also speak highly of the housekeeping standards and how the rooms are furnished. The staff are the hotel’s greatest asset, from housekeeping through management. Arti greeted us at reception and quickly became a favorite. We appreciated duty manager Nishant’s friendly manner and attention to detail. It’s an excellent team. Thanks for a super three days, and until next time.

Koushik, who served our table, was outstanding: polite, friendly, impeccably mannered, and always ready to help. The management should be proud to have him on the team. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, and the rooms, staff, and food were all five-star.

The location, food, atmosphere, and service at Oberoi Cecil were all faultless during our lovely three-night stay with Great Railway Journeys. After dinner, we especially enjoyed evenings at the bar with Deepanshu and Sylvester. They were attentive and knew so much about Shimla’s and India’s history and culture. We spent our days walking along the Mall and exploring Shimla, and also took a must-do trip to Lord Kitchener’s residence, “Wildflower Hall,” as well as Fagu and Kufri, a great spot for Himalayan views. We only stayed for one day, but the whole staff treated us like family. Srishti was especially kind and helped us in every way she could. She gave us a warm welcome and went above and beyond to make the hotel experience lovely. We’re very grateful for her support.

This was our second stay, and we plan to keep coming back. We were lucky enough to see snowfall, too. The valley view room had a great outlook, and the hotel is beautiful. Breakfast tasted great, and the staff there were very good. Our order was a little late on the first day, but it wasn’t a big deal. Don’t miss the spa session they offer, it’s incredibly good.
