Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, Shimla

The valley view from our room and its balcony made it easy to sit back and unwind. What really made the stay memorable, though, was the team. Mr. Vaibhav, Ravinder, Vijay, and Symra looked after us with real care, from the welcome at reception to housekeeping and the culinary team. We felt like family, and we’ll always remember their kindness. The buffet breakfast at WelcomCafe Cedar was enjoyable, with plenty of Indian and continental choices. Food prices are on the high side, with the buffet at ₹2000 plus taxes per person. The hotel is in Mashobra II, about 15 km from central Shimla. It’s a lovely, quieter setting with fewer crowds and less congestion than the city. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a luxurious, memorable stay in the region.

Returning to Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, Mashobra felt like coming home. I’d worked here before, and this time the team welcomed me so warmly as a guest. The dishes were full of flavor and beautifully presented. Special thanks to Chef Tarun for putting together such a thoughtful meal. Rohit, Ankit, and Atul were courteous and attentive throughout. Thank you to everyone for a lovely visit. I’m looking forward to coming back.

The staff were friendly throughout, and the welcome with a Himachali topi and a drink was a nice touch. Narendra, Rohit, and the kind woman at reception made check-in and check-out especially pleasant. In-room dining was delicious, as you’d expect from ITC, and there are activities on offer along with a dedicated kids’ play area. For enjoying nature and warm hospitality, I’d recommend staying here instead of at the usual crowded tourist spots.

The steep approach road makes you earn the welcome, but the hospitality in the mountains is pristine. From the room, there’s a lovely valley view and a balcony where you can relax. The food is brilliant, and the 24by7 kitchen has a decent range of options, which you don’t commonly see. There are activities for tourists too, just call and ask. Chef Balakoti and Barambir Sharma in the restaurant were supportive and accommodated our requests so the food was just right. GM Ankit Manocha pays attention to the small details and is doing an excellent job of making guests’ stays memorable.
