The Foothills

We had a terrible experience here and I would strongly advise people to be cautious. From 1pm to 8pm on 10-3-2023, we say we were harassed and put under mental stress, and we eventually filed an FIR with the Goa police. The situation ended with two people missing flights twice, although both trips had been booked for that same day and our cab driver was there to witness what happened. We say the costs came to 17,000 plus 18,000 plus 20,000 plus 4,000, or 59,000 INR. Staff shouted at us and kept demanding more money, and we felt they wouldn't let us leave unless we paid extra charges we didn't know about. They also wouldn't serve breakfast after 9am without charging, and kept knocking and calling after 10am, saying an extra 1,000 rupees applied even if you came out an hour later. There were only one or two people at the property, which we felt was tied to these behaviour problems. The staff seemed very shrewd to us. I wouldn't consider this even a one-star stay, and don't recommend it. The reviews may be paid, so asking a local cab driver might give a clearer picture.

The peaceful surroundings and wildlife made our six days here really enjoyable. Thanks to Crystal, Eshaan, Franklin, and Snehesh for making the stay fun with such kind, thoughtful service. We’d love to come back. Thank you, Foothills.

The rooms, towels, and linen were clean, and the pool was kept reasonably well. The place looks much like the photos, though the marshy swamp facing it, especially from the poolside, isn't shown. We booked through Mr Kshitij Bawa, and Mr Deepak was meant to handle the day-to-day arrangements. We had planned a celebration and invited people, but the coordinators seemed unaware of what was happening and never came by. The staff on site didn't even know who Mr Deepak was. Breakfast had been promised and the menu settled a week ahead, but on the first morning there was no cook. The coordinators only found out after I called, and since the cook was also meant to bring groceries, the morning was a complete mess and was spoiled for us. They also said they'd help arrange a Saturday night party, but did nothing until the last minute. We took over and still managed to have a great time. The staff themselves were decent and helpful, and the owners, whom we happened to meet on arrival, seemed friendly. Staff couldn't give us their number when we asked. I hope the owners see this and change the coordinators, because otherwise it's a nice property. The organisers promise far too much and deliver shockingly little.

Jerry was a great host, and the location was just right. We had a really good time at our team offsite. Highly recommend it.
