Naman Hotel

We booked four rooms for three nights and used the 24-hour stay option, which worked really well with our early arrival on the Siddheshwar Express from Mumbai at 7:00 AM and our 6:00 AM departure on the Vande Bharat. The location is in a premium part of Solapur, with good restaurants within walking distance, and auto-rickshaws are available outside the gates around the clock. There was a small mix-up about the room count when we checked in, but the staff sorted it out gracefully and got all four rooms ready. The rooms were in top condition. Breakfast was fine, and the Benne Dosa was so good we packed some for the onward trip. Checkout brought a minor billing confusion, though the front desk honored the price we’d been offered when booking. A reliable, flexible place to stay in Solapur.

The terrace has a nice view, particularly in the evening, and the place feels safe and convenient in the heart of Solapur. It’s close to the railway station, so getting there is easy. Rooms are clean, maintained well, and have the basic facilities; staff are polite and respond quickly. Breakfast is tasty, though there could be more choices. It works well for a short visit, whether you’re traveling with family or for business, and offers good value.

I’d read plenty of negative reviews before deciding to stay here, and that should’ve been enough to put me off. When I called reception, the man sounded a little rude, as other reviews had mentioned. I asked questions in English and he answered in Hindi. I asked him to reserve a room and whether I could pay when I checked in. He said that was fine, but then added that if someone else asked for a room before I paid in advance, they’d give it to that person. I told him that wasn’t really a booking. He should have said plainly that they couldn’t reserve a room without advance payment. When I questioned him, he spoke rudely. This sort of thing is common at lodges tucked into inner streets, but they claim to be a three-star hotel. I seriously doubt the rating. Do they really have a three-star certificate? If so, I wonder how the Indian hotel association and federation award one to a place of such low quality.

Breakfast is complimentary and pretty good, and while the hotel parking is limited there’s plenty of space to park on the street. The rooms are decent, though on the small side. Bathrooms could use a bit more cleaning, and the walls had stains and cracks. 3/5.
