Hotel Somnath Sagar

The rooms are spacious and the food was good. We had a nice stay, and the service was great. Manager Vipul helped us a lot and was a really nice person.

This is a very basic place to sleep and move on from, so don't expect luxury. The bathroom is old and stained, and the hand wash seems to be mostly water. There was no tea or coffee in the room. The hotel is down a narrow street, though it does have some parking. I managed to get a small spot. It was a hot day, and they switched off the AC in the middle of the night. We kept calling, but got a string of excuses, first a generator problem and then load shedding. They turned it back on at 8 in the morning. It felt like they might have been trying to save on bills, and that night of calling about the AC was horrible. I paid a lot because of the season, though I think this place is worth 1000 at most.

The room was clean and tidy, and when I arrived they were mopping the hotel. The bedsheets and pillows were clean too. I checked a few places in person after seeing mixed reviews about cleanliness at budget hotels near Somnath. Somnath Sagar was about a kilometer from the temple, with autos available for 20rs per person or 100rs per auto. The front desk staff were helpful and supportive. I only needed a room for 6-7 hours, but their policy required me to book a full night. The rate was 1200, and I paid 977 through Cleartrip. It's a pocket-friendly, clean hotel. If you're unsure about cleanliness, you can inspect the room before booking online or offline.

We booked two nice rooms and paid 3200. Service was good, though the washroom soap dispenser seemed to have more water than soap.
