Hotel Glacier Heights

Pony rides to Thajiwas Glacier and cabs to Baltal are easy to find right outside the hotel, and the market is just a 2-3 minute walk away. Our triple room was comfortable, well maintained, and had a lovely view. The hotel provided essentials like a kettle, tea and coffee kit, and bathroom items. Staff were courteous, with prompt and efficient service. We had buffet breakfast and dinner, with decent food and a good choice of options, though the quality could be better. Both days they served the same paneer gravy, which was quite oily, and the rotis would be better made with atta instead of maida. It’s a good hotel in Sonamarg, and I’d recommend it; improvements to the food would make the experience even better.

The hotel worked well for our family stay: our tour agent had booked two rooms, both spacious, clean, and warm, with central heating. Dinner and breakfast were the best part, and the service was good. I had no issues and recommended the hotel to families. I wouldn’t recommend Sonmarg itself, though. Its scenic beauty didn’t seem different from what you can find elsewhere. Pony rides are extremely expensive, and untrained teenage boys operate the ponies. The photography scene there is also a scam.

Hotel Glacier Heights was super convenient thanks to its fantastic location. The rooms were pristine, and the service was top-notch. I had a wonderful stay and definitely recommend it! ✨💯💖

The staff were super efficient, and breakfast and dinner had plenty of excellent-tasting choices for everyone, with vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. From the rooms you can look toward Thajiwas Glacier and the adjacent peaks. The property is also easy to reach from the main market and close to the point for pony rides. One of the best properties in Sonmarg.
