Blue Lagoon Sea Front cottages

The view from bungalow #19 was breathtaking, and the terrace was such a cozy place to do yoga in the morning, enjoy the fresh air, or watch the sunset. I stayed three nights at Blue Lagoon in March 2026, then added another day because I fell in love with the location. The bungalow was spacious and well maintained, and the place was quiet, with no loud music allowed outside. It felt wonderfully secluded. Rats were living in the bungalows and moving around freely, including on the bed, tables, and sink. I found droppings on my bathroom towel, the bedside table, terrace, and even the bed. One night a rat jumped onto my bed and woke me up. I couldn’t sleep there after that. I don’t mind animals or insects, and I understand this is the jungle and their natural habitat, but the resort should have hygiene measures to stop rats getting inside the bungalows. They can carry dangerous infections, so this is a serious hygiene problem. I refused to pay for the night with the rats, and the resort discounted it from my bill. It’s very sad because I loved the place, but I won’t be back.

The location is out of the way and getting there takes a little effort, but I never regretted booking it. So far, this is the best resort I've visited in South Goa, at Cola Beach. Great staff and room service, too. 10/10.

The beach is lovely, though getting into the sea is limited because of rip tides. Chalan was especially attentive and helpful, and the service and food were very good. We were pleased with the spacious, clean hut after negotiating to move to one at the front because the steps were too steep. Still, a booking for three should mean two beds, not a mattress on the floor. There are lots of stairs up and down to reach the resort, so it won't suit anyone who struggles with them. Cleanliness around the restaurant and elsewhere at the resort needs attention. It was a good stay, and a couple of small changes could have made it exceptional.

We had a good time kayaking at Cola beach, but the restaurant experience spoiled the day. The waiters were rude when we asked what drinks were available, telling us to check the menu card. It felt like they were focused on foreign guests rather than Indians. Customers bring them business, so that attitude was disappointing. I've never been treated like that before, and I wouldn't recommend eating there.
