The bungalow was spacious, quiet, and tastefully decorated, with a nice collection of books. It would suit someone wanting to unwind away from the city. I’m glad we booked just one night, though, because the stay didn’t feel worth the premium price. Breakfast was very limited, mostly continental items like bread, chocolate spreads, and dried fruit. Chole bhaji with Goan poi was the only Indian option, and it was hard to find something suitable for our toddler. Breakfast ran from 8:30 to 10:30, but even with very few guests, staff asked at 10:22 if they could clear the spread and waited for us to finish quickly. That felt uncomfortable and rushed, especially given how little was on offer. I understand policies vary, but being charged extra for a simple dal khichdi for a toddler felt disappointing at a premium property. The peaceful setting was nice, but the facilities and service didn’t match the price. I’m unlikely to return.

Curtorim gave us a much quieter, more local experience of Goa than the usual crowded beaches and tourist spots. We could slow down and take in everyday life, and the whole stay felt peaceful and connected to the area. At Mansao Goa, the rooms were spotless, very comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The care showed in small things, from the decor to the table settings. Salahuddin and Anthony looked after us warmly, and Nazim, the property manager, gave us sightseeing suggestions that helped us explore meaningfully. Chef Priscilla made every meal feel special. The food was exceptional, and each dish offered a lovely glimpse of Goan culture through its flavors and presentation.

We’d wanted to stay at a CGH Earth property for a long time, and this one left us feeling content and at ease. The breakfast was one of the most lavish and satisfying we’ve had. CGH Earth Mansão Curtorim is a 200-year-old Portuguese bungalow surrounded by greenery and birdsong. It has a lot of character, and the people hosting us brought real warmth and grace to a peaceful stay that felt like stepping into a gentler time.

Curtorim is lovely, with lakes around the village and the impressive St Alex Church at its center. At the north-east corner of the church grounds, there’s a samosa or ros omelette stall that may be the best in Goa. You’ll need transport to get around. Taxis can be arranged, but autos don’t seem to come this far inland. The property is quiet apart from the occasional village sounds, and the front has a lovely view of Communidade Lake. Wi-Fi is blisteringly fast throughout. The food is fantastic, with a flexible menu that’s an ongoing discussion through the day, and prices were reasonable with no hidden surprises. The interiors are beautifully done, with lovely materials, lighting, and art that suit the historic building. There’s no bling. Rooms and shared areas are spotless, the furnishings are lovely, and our bed was probably the most comfortable I’ve slept in for a long time. I was especially glad not to find the usual synthetic bed throw that seems to need PPE to handle. A big thank you to Nazim and the staff. CGH Earth is an excellent hospitality company, and this Saha property reflects its values, professionalism, and local employment.

Curtorim is a lovely little village for a slow, peaceful holiday. This gorgeous lake-facing Portuguese villa sits among lush greenery, with birdsong almost all the time. It was a real balm for the senses. The staff were welcoming and very accommodating. Thank you, Nazeem, Melvin and Priscilla, for an unforgettable stay. The food was delicious, especially the seafood thali and seafood broth, the clear stars of the lunch and dinner menus. Some things, including eggs and milk, are sourced in the village.
