Martins Crest

Breakfast was the only decent part of the stay. We’d asked in advance for rooms 104 and 105, but the receptionist seemed confused and irresponsible, and those rooms had been given to someone else. We were put in 101 and 103 instead. The property is far from the city and major attractions, with no transport available anywhere nearby. We paid around ₹6,000 per night, but the rooms didn’t even feel like 1-star quality. They were unclean, with cobwebs, spiders, cockroaches, and insects everywhere. There was mould on the walls and around the property, and many bulbs didn’t work, so the rooms were poorly lit. There was no hot water. It was extremely cold, so we had to ask for an electric kettle and heat water ourselves to bathe. No toiletries, bathroom bucket or tumbler, or kettle for drinking water were provided. The pool was very dirty, with white patches left on the water. Visitor parking wasn’t available, and the dedicated parking was very limited, around 5 spaces for 25 flats. The stay was inconvenient and uncomfortable, and nowhere near what we expected for the price. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for comfort or value for money.

The balcony is lovely, but there’s nowhere to dry wet clothes after swimming, and the bathroom was dirty with no spot to hang or dry laundry. Room service was almost nonexistent, and the staff felt cold. These are apartments in a plain, non-aesthetic building, though it could work well for a long-term stay. For what they charged, it definitely wasn’t good value.

The rooftop restaurant is a real highlight, with delicious food and a great view that made meals more enjoyable. I’ve stayed at Martins Crest a couple of times, and both visits have been great. The property is well maintained and has a comfortable, welcoming feel. The staff are friendly and ready to help. Peter deserves a special mention for always being friendly and making sure guests are looked after. It’s been a reliable, enjoyable place to stay.

We were only there for two days, but the service was really good. The room was clean and the staff behaved well. We booked at the last minute and still got the room for a very cheap rate. The one thing missing was an in-house restaurant.
