At ₹42,000 a night, I expected much more from a luxury stay. The reception staff and general atmosphere felt dull and unwelcoming, and we had to follow up repeatedly for most services. Staff also seemed more attentive to foreign guests than to Indian guests, which was disappointing. Our room had cockroaches. Housekeeping said it was next to a drainage area, but after paying that much, being assigned a room near a drainage area felt unacceptable. Snooker cost extra despite the premium price, while the rooms and breakfast were average at best. There were also excessive crows around the property and constant noise during our stay. The service and hygiene didn’t meet what I’d expect from a luxury hotel at this price.

The beach is excellent, the location is good, housekeeping does a good job and the pools are nice. The restaurant, especially the seagull, was a big disappointment. There seem to be lots of supervisors but too few staff actually serving. If you don’t want the buffet, it takes a long time to catch someone to place an order, and the servers looked overwhelmed even with the number of customers there. The food wasn’t that great either. My room’s AC also had a problem, and it took the staff three visits over six hours to figure it out and fix it. A quiet or undemanding guest isn’t necessarily satisfied. Some people judge silently too, so the staff shouldn’t get complacent.

The rooms were clean, beach access was good, and housekeeping responded quickly when I asked for things to be fixed. Still, the stay didn’t have the premium feel I’ve had at nearby Mobor/Cavelossim resorts. I was also surprised there wasn’t a good hotel-run beach restaurant or an area with recliners and seating by the water. A good beachside dining option would be welcome. Getting help from the concierge was underwhelming. I asked for a cab to the wildlife sanctuary for a night safari and was told to book directly with drivers outside. As a tourist, I worried about unreasonable quotes, which travel forums often describe as a tourist trap, and about riding with an unvetted driver. I’d expected help getting a fair price or at least some guidance on what a reasonable one would be. Breakfast was another uncomfortable moment. I arrived shortly after 9 am, and the Seagull host asked us to wait for tables. A queue formed, but people walked past and went inside. When I asked, the host more or less shrugged and said we could go in if we found a table ourselves. He eventually directed us to one, but people who had skipped the line tried to grab it. I don’t mind waiting and understand busy periods, but the indifferent handling felt rude.

A spacious, pleasant resort with friendly, helpful staff throughout our stay. The beach was very clean and the gardens were beautiful. I’d definitely recommend this hotel.
