OYO 18441 Furtado's Beach House

One of the worst rooms I’ve stayed in. The bed was filthy, with what looked like blood or similar colored stains, and there was no water. The toilet was unhygienic, smelled bad, and had a cockroach in it; I couldn’t even bathe or use it. The AC blew hot air.

The rooms are quite large, and the location is great. The food was tasty too. Bathrooms have no exhaust fan or window.

The boss was excellent and the staff were okay, but the kitchen didn’t seem as good as it used to be. They had no tandori, some dishes took a long time, and starters and main food ordered together arrived mixed up. A few things were forgotten, and I had to tell the boss, who went in to alert the kitchen staff while they were making them. Maybe they needed to buy some items, I don’t know. It’s low season, and things can be disappointing at beach shacks, especially with heavy monsoon rain. This place used to be good before it became a Shack. I’m not sure if it’s hard to maintain now that it’s right by the beach.

We booked two cottages for the weekend, but the stay was nowhere near worth the price. The cottages were average, and the AC barely cooled at all. Staff told us to wait half an hour for the room to cool, then left us waiting outside for two hours. They were unfriendly and arrogant. When we complained that the AC hadn't cooled the room, one staff member insisted it was cooling and said the Patra sheets on the roof meant he couldn't do anything. He offered another cottage, but it was just as bad. Worst experience ever.
