The setting is thoughtfully laid out and has a lively but relaxed feel. Nick at reception, Rahul in the kitchen, and the rest of the staff were all friendly and helpful. We stayed in a large cottage with two king size beds and basic firm mattresses, plus a private bathroom outside the cottage. The room and bathroom were clean, which was a big plus. There were just a few basic amenities, lights, a fan, a dresser, and a cooler that we didn’t try, so I can’t say if it worked. Don’t expect plush hotel beds. Hot water is available only for a limited time, which may matter to some people. Woodstock is right by Benaulim beach, and for the price, it felt like a steal. There are different options, from shared dorms to private cottages. My understanding is that dorm guests share a bathroom. It’s a no frills stay with a boutique esque feel.

I loved this place. It was clean and neat, the staff were very friendly, and the cottage was just 100 meters from the beach. A lovely spot to stay.

I feel very sad that this place seemed so unsafe for women. We had the worst night of our lives there. We asked for the fan to be repaired at 5 pm and told them we’d arrive at midnight, so there were seven hours to fix it. When we got there, nobody had repaired it. The guy rahul, who was responsible there, seemed heavily on drugs and started acting very badly, crying and begging us to leave in the middle of the night just because we’d asked about the fan. We had no vehicle and the roads were empty, so after seriously asking, we managed to stay, but we were afraid the whole time. The place wasn’t clean, water didn’t come, and the boys there seemed to be on drugs. It was dreadful. We don’t care what people do in their own lives, but threatening us with having to leave in the middle of the night wasn’t okay.

Woodstock was a lovely, exotic place, and I really enjoyed our trip. It’s just 100 metres from the amazing Benaulim Beach. If you’re planning a tour, this is a must visit.
