The Golden Crown Hotel & Spa, Colva

Colva beach was the one downside for me, I didn't like it at all. The stay itself was awesome, though, with great rooms, a pool, and excellent service. Sweeton and Ainsley were so welcoming and hospitable, and made our stay the best. Their service would be hard to match even at a five or seven star hotel. Lovely people, and I loved staying here.

The restaurant boys were spot on, friendly, and courteous. The pool was fab, the rooms were good once we got the one we had requested, and we ended up having a very lovely week. Getting there was rough, though: the front desk girls had given our agreed room to someone else, and it took some pushing plus help from Mr Theo and Mr Hayman to sort it out with proper customer service. The reception staff then kept chasing us about a deposit payment that hadn't gone through, even though we'd paid for six full days. They could do with calming down and learning from their older, more experienced colleagues. Still, a great find.

Mr. Hemant guided and organized our trip beautifully, and all the staff were helpful and cooperative. We stayed for about three days at The Golden Crown. After comparing lots of hotels and resorts, this felt like good value: others were asking much more for fewer amenities. We needed four rooms, and at the time we booked, the rate was around Rs4,500, which seemed like a great deal. The pool filtration wasn't working properly while we were there, though, and that could put some people off. Still, it was a lovely stay ❤️

The main issue is that the property needs extensive renovation, especially the bathrooms in the rooms. WiFi was very weak, and mobile reception was weak too. The location is good, and it's a nice property. The front desk and security staff were pleasant and helpful. At the restaurant, Alvito Pargo, Derry, and Samir were attentive and always ready to serve. Breakfast was okay, with good eggs and dosa. They also made me pot tea when I asked.
