The food was good, and the staff were really friendly. In the morning they have hot water, but it comes from the hills and had a lot of dust and sand in it, so I’d avoid bathing with it. Finding the camp can be difficult. I’d download the full Ladakh offline maps before setting out, as that helped me locate it. The camp is very close to the lake, and the views from there are awesome.

The view was the one good part of our stay at this camp on the trip to Pangong. The tents were quite dirty and poorly maintained. There was no drinking water in the rooms.

We paid the full amount ten days ahead, but when we got to the camp, our rooms had been given to someone else. The manager was nowhere to be seen for the whole night and day. We felt awful because of this. It seems to me that people are being taken advantage of, and this happens a lot in Pangong. Please don’t book here if they can’t actually provide a camp for you.

The service was horrible. The rooms are made of tin and not properly built, so air comes right through them. There was no drinking water in the room, or even proper cold water. It snowed on the day we arrived, so there wasn’t any warm water either. We had a MAP package, but the cook told me there were no vegetables and no food. I called the owner and explained what was going on. They offered some reassurance that something would be done, but all we got was basic food prepared in an unhygienic setting. There isn’t much else there, so we figured rice and dal were acceptable. If you’re adventurous, you may be okay with the place. My kids and the other family members enjoyed the snow, which is why I’m giving it two stars. Otherwise, it’d be zero. Don’t go to Pangong during snowfall, or you may have to ask the Air Force to rescue you.

The service was awful. They didn’t even provide drinking water in the rooms. Three people in our group became unwell from dehydration and developed acute mountain sickness. We got through it only because of the military medical camp near Pangong.
