Pangong Paradise

The views and decorative upholstery add to what sounds like a good vacation, along with the professional staff and delectable cuisine. Pangong Paradise is a famous camping site with the latest amenities for a comfortable stay. Guests can also choose sightseeing, rafting, or trekking. Book ahead so you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended.

The staff were lovely, friendly, and very accommodating. Meals were vegetarian, tasty, and healthy, and the chai was good. The rooms had comfortable, warm beds, but the western toilets weren’t clean, there was no hot water, and I found lots of spiders. The place is quiet in terms of shops, which is excellent, and a sunrise or sunset walk by the lake is worth doing. Its colours shift through the day. The drive over is phenomenal, with marmots sunning themselves along the way. I’d recommend visiting Pangong Tso, though I wouldn’t suggest staying overnight unless you’re camping or sleeping somewhere else. One group played loud music without respecting the place, and we could hear people snoring in nearby tents and others talking loudly from 4am. Domestic tourists didn’t seem to consider that others were trying to get a night’s rest.

The stay was terrible, and I won’t book here again. The listing didn’t reflect reality even by 10%. The sheets and pillow cover were used and dirty, with hair all over them. The toilet smelled awful, and used toilet paper was scattered everywhere. The zip didn’t work, the toilet seat was loose, and there was a bare wire hanging in the washroom with no light. Staff said they’d put in a holder soon and that it was safe, nothing to worry about. The chair was broken and the bed was in very bad shape too. Not worth Rs.5000 at all.
