Gulab Guest House

The owner was helpful, had a good way of dealing with guests, and even lent us hot bags for the chilly nights and suggested other places to see. The stay was budget friendly and close to several gardens in the city. We were there December 22-25, 2023, and found the location very good and peaceful. There was no power backup, so staying in the room during the day could be difficult in the cold. The geyser wasn't very effective either. Even if left on for a long time, the water didn't get very hot.

I had an amazing stay at this guest house. Bilal is a lovely guy.

There were power cuts every day, and the food was tasteless. The owner kept coming to our room to talk about money, and at the end he was concerned about his money and tip. It got annoying. I wouldn't recommend booking this hotel.

This was easily the worst place I've stayed. The sheets were dirty and untidy, and the room smelled so bad it made me feel sick. The bathroom smelled awful too and didn't even have handwash. No geyser or heater during the rainy days, electricity went off every hour, and there was no ceiling fan. Just a slow wall fan that barely moved any air. There's no restaurant or anything nearby, and the place is farther out than expected. It felt like the owners' home, not a resort at all. I would tell anyone looking for a resort not to book Gulab Resort.
