We found it hard to get hold of anyone after booking. The number they gave us went unanswered, so we had to figure out the ghat number and ask shikara owners one by one until we found theirs. That took an hour. Once there, you could hear everything from the other rooms, EVERYTHING. If you aren't booking the whole houseboat, a hotel may be a better option, since otherwise you're stuck there with nothing to do and can't just go out and roam. The stay itself was average. The food was homely but very expensive, with no choices, and the staff were good and helpful, but... Only one plug point in the room worked. The towels were poor quality, and the bed creaked even when you sat down slowly.

There was no electricity, the rooms weren't clean at all, and the food wasn't good either.

The room was spacious and clean, and the heater got properly hot. Dinner was great, though breakfast was just average. The water from the sink tasted like lake water. Seems suited to couples or groups.

Some of the people here seem a bit focused on money, but it’s still a good place to stay.
