Moustache Srinagar

The common areas made it easy to meet other travelers over games and music, and the dorms still gave you some privacy with personal charging points and lockers. Moustache had the lively, clean, welcoming feel I want as a backpacker. Staff suggested some local hidden gems, and the cafe served comforting food that felt like home. The energy is hard to beat, whether you're traveling solo or working remotely, and makes you want to stay longer.

My stay was a nightmare. I was in a presidential suite, but they didn’t clean the room, there was no shower gel, and the towels were dirty. They left cheap 10 rupee soaps like those used in 2* hotels. The gyser wasn’t working, and when we arrived they hadn’t turned on the heater. When I asked, they said it was only for night, then they turned its gas supply off in the middle of the night. There were no water bottles, and the jar was empty. When I told the staff member, he said I should take the jar downstairs and fill it myself. The staff were unprofessional. Breakfast cost 600 rupees for just 2 aloo prantha and 2 cups of noon chai. There was no wall mixer in the washroom, and the water closet was broken. I would never recommend staying here.

The people at the Srinagar property are so welcoming, and the place really feels like a home away from home. Moustache has been one of my regular choices for the past few years. As a travel content creator, I’ve found their hospitality genuinely great.

Aunty’s cooking was delicious, and she made us feel at home. The hosts were incredibly warm and always ready to help or guide us with whatever we needed. The rooms were better than many hotels, too. Amazing service, highly recommended!
