The boat itself is beautiful and clean, and the caregiver gave excellent service. But there was no peace on board: vendors kept being sent by the owner to pressure us into buying trip souvenirs, over and over. The owner contacted me asking for full payment, saying he was fully booked and wanted a bank transfer. He wasn't fully booked. A week after my stay, he CANCELLED my booking.com reservation and is now trying to charge me a second time for not showing up. I wouldn't stay here again. The hotel where I spent the rest of my time in Kashmir was nothing like this place.

The shikara ride through the floating market late in the evening was fantastic. The boatman was fun and pleasant. Each houseboat has its own shikara. There was also a frightening incident at midnight when the houseboat beside ours sank. The commotion went on for about 2 hours and ruined our sleep. I booked through a travel agent and had a decent stay otherwise. The caretaker was nice and quick to help, the buffet was OK, and the chef made the tea we specially requested.

Amina Houseboat was warm inside and fully equipped, which made it a nice option for a cold winter night on the water. The room has a wooden smell that might bother you, though I was fine with the natural wood aroma. The boat service is an experience you should have. Breakfast wasn't part of the package, so I can't comment on the food in the house. Still, I enjoyed my stay and would give this place all stars. It was lovely to spend a night over the water at DAL Lake, Kashmir, especially with a good place to stay.

The food was good, simple meals. The stationary houseboat made for a super quiet stay, and the host was very hospitable, especially Hilal. The shikara boatsman tend to rip u for money, though. Dal lake is pretty unclean, with lots of weeds and floating shops selling things.

Food was good, and it's a decent place for a day or two. The rest was good too, but service needs plenty of work. Staff don't seem to respect guests' privacy: one guy came straight into our room without knocking to say dinner was ready. Some kept pestering us for tips, even though they rarely went out of their way to help.
