The peaceful view over Dal Lake was refreshing, and the houseboat was beautifully kept, with traditional Kashmiri interiors and very clean rooms. Staff were polite and helpful the whole time, and the food was delicious and freshly prepared. We had an amazing experience at Royal Group of Houseboats. A great pick for a comfortable, memorable stay on the lake while visiting Kashmir.

A one-day stay is enough, since getting around depends on shikara rides and conveyance is limited. The boat is on the edge of an island in dal lake. Ashraf Bhai is a great host and owner, and keeps the houseboats in good condition. Caretaker Asif was experienced and well mannered. Warm water, food, and drinks were no problem. Try visiting the owners pashmina factory, and bargain as much as you can. The only shortcoming was no tea kettle in the houseboat, due to safety concerns.

We spent our last day in Kashmir on a houseboat on dal lake in Srinagar, and it was a good experience. The boats stay in place, and you reach yours by shikara, a small boat. Rooms were nice and each can fit three people. Bathrooms were clean with hot water. Someone was always on board to take meal preferences and bring tea or hot drinking water.

Our family had a memorable first stay on a houseboat, reached by shikara. It was a beautiful old heritage of kashmir, with lovely rooms decorated in carved wood. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and home cooked, and the chef was very good. We loved the hospitality. Sellers came by the boats with snacks, ice cream, and jewellery, so there was entertainment through the day.

So peaceful and quiet, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, charming and amazing.
