Royal Residency

The receptionist was badly mannered and gave a poor response to my enquiry, both on the phone and in person. They even cut off the call while I was speaking.

We stayed for 2 days and were really happy with the service. After we checked out, I realised I’d left my jewel in the room. We called the hotel, and they honestly returned it just as it was. The manager is a nice man. Thank you so much!

The staff were the one good thing: polite, courteous, and helpful. The place itself is more like a lodge, on the 3rd floor of a 6 story building. A dirty, uncovered nullah runs by the entrance, and you have to cross it on steel sheets. There’s a lift, but it didn’t work during my 5 days there. There’s no kitchen, so even tea, coffee, and mineral water have to be bought from outside. I had no other option and stayed, but it’s better avoided.

We booked 3 rooms for a family stay, and had a very bad experience. The hotel was under construction, which wasn’t mentioned when we booked. The ACs worked, but none of the remotes did, and there were no TV remotes. The bathrooms were dirty and unhygienic, as were the bedsheets and floors. The rooms felt unused for a long time and smelled dusty. Smoke in the corridor also made it unpleasant for a family. The hotel is on the second floor, and its small lift often didn’t work properly. There was no restaurant, and the complimentary breakfast and parking listed at booking weren’t provided. One attendant didn’t know the local language, so even asking for a bottle of water was a struggle. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
