Sunrise Beach Resort

Simple, cozy accommodation, but the real draw is stepping straight from the resort onto the white sand. The beach is right there, and the direct access makes the sea feel like part of the property. Sunrise over the turquoise Bay of Bengal was breathtaking and made the trip worthwhile. A peaceful, private-feeling beachfront stay for anyone who values the natural setting and being close to the water.

We booked four rooms for a family visit and found the air conditioning broken in one. None of the toilets had working flushes. After several heated arguments, the hotel changed two rooms for us, but they had the same problem. We were delayed by two hours and had to leave our belongings with the staff; by the time we came back that evening, our AC had been fixed. There were still many smaller issues that the service staff couldn't sort out. Then, around 1 AM, the power went out in our room. We looked for a main switch at about 2:30 and again at 4 AM, but couldn't find one, and no hotel staff were there to help. One of the worst stays I've had.

The resort does have a clean private beach that you can visit at any time, and swimming there was possible. But our room was beside the entrance and noisy, and the condition of the place was awful. The entrance and reception looked dirty and shabby, with stained floors and old, broken sofas. The room was filthy, with old furniture and a dirty pillow and bedsheet. In the bathroom, the tap was rusty and hard to use, the mirror was stained, and the flush didn't work properly. There was no toilet paper, shampoo, or body wash, and the AC leaked. Room service was extremely slow, the dining room was in poor shape with chairs falling apart, and the plates and spoons weren't washed properly. The staff didn't seem properly trained. Avoid it; there are much better, newer places to stay.

A lovely night by the beach! The staff were really friendly, our cozy room was clean and had a perfect sea view, and breakfast was delicious. ❤️
