The room they gave me was below par and didn't match the photos on Google or the website. Cleanliness was poor, especially behind the TV. The dressing mirror lights and some other lights didn't work, there was an exposed electrical wire coming from a conduit in the bathroom, and the tap leaked. No hanger for clothes, and no charging point by the bed. The room had a 32-inch TV with a repaired remote. Breakfast was served just for namesake and had no taste. I stayed here last week on an official trip, and this godown doesn't deserve even one star, though the website says four. Even my PG room is better. Hilarious. Free advice, please don't book this one.

Mr Balaji gave us the best service. I ended the meal with Rasam, which I hadn't expected to choose, and you'd regret skipping it. Rasam was 100/10. The starters were the highlight, especially the mutton sheek kebab, crunchy veg spring roll, chicken 65, and Lotus spicy crunchyness. They were 10/10, and the tasty starters had me half full before the main course, which couldn't beat them. Main course was 8/10. My Mutton Biryani was average, though my colleagues liked theirs. Podi idly was excellent. Don't try the green pasta or cutlet. Kajuur gheer was excellent, but the other ice creams and desserts weren't exquisite, 6/10. Finished with vinegar-dipped salads, and the fruit salads were usual. It was my corporate Christmas buffet. Restaurant ambience is awesome.

I stayed at Raj Park Hotel, Chennai from 10-13 Nov 2025, and a billing problem at The Quintessence caused a lot of stress. I booked two buffet dinners on Swiggy Dineout, which showed a 50% discount, and paid INR 1,568 in advance. The manager accepted that payment at first, but after the meal I was told the offer wasn't valid and had to pay the full amount again. As a hotel guest, I had the second charge added to my checkout invoice on 13.11.2025, so I had no choice but to pay twice. The hotel refused to start a refund for the Swiggy payment and left me to chase Swiggy myself, despite being the service provider. Their supposed refund confirmation was just an A4 sheet with a manager's seal and signature, not official letterhead. I'm still struggling to get a refund from swiggy because they haven't received any communication from the restaurant to return the money I paid. This caused unnecessary inconvenience and financial loss during my stay. Guests should be able to expect clear billing and coordination with the third-party platforms a hotel uses. I'm sharing this so future guests know about the issue, and I hope the hotel improves its communication, billing practices, and accountability.

The staff were nice and the rooms pretty nice too. The bathrooms sometimes smelled, and the WiFi was out for maybe 10+ hours. Service could be extremely slow and incompetent at times. For what you get, I found it too expensive and wish the prices reflected a more 3-star hotel.
