Hotel Sri Ganga

The manager was helpful and did his best to make up for the shortcomings, but the room and facilities were in a really poor state. We paid ₹3,500 for a Ganga-facing room. The linens were untidy, the bathroom smelled bad, and basic things were missing: no bucket or mug, unreliable water, and no clean or sufficient linens at first. We had to ask for almost everything. Parking was also listed as available, but our car didn't fit in the space. The location is the one real draw. It's right by the Ganga, peaceful, and lets you walk along the ghat. Against nearby five-star properties, the price seems reasonable for the location alone. Location: 10/10, or even 100/10. Room, cleanliness, amenities, and facilities: below zero. I'd only recommend it if location is your sole priority and you're willing to give up a lot of comfort, cleanliness, and basic amenities. I wouldn't recommend it for couples either.

We had to switch rooms because of the foul smell from the washroom, and they charged extra for the change. The rooms are in terrible condition, with shabby walls and dirty washrooms. Their behavior made us feel like we were their staff. If you want to enjoy Rishikesh, book somewhere else or this could spoil your day.

I arrived from Haridwar to Rishikesh and booked at the last minute. They charged me ₹2,000 for a few hours and made lots of promises, then took 100% upfront. After that, there was no drinking water, and the dirty room had cockroaches and a lizard. The washroom door was broken, with water everywhere, and there were no towels or basic hygiene amenities. Staff were argumentative and unhelpful. They had a gate just 10 meters from the Ganga Aarti, but wouldn't unlock it despite promising they would. The location is amazing, but the rooms, price, service, and staff were all pathetic. It was my worst hotel experience.

Avoid this hotel. There was no cleanliness, the bathroom door was broken, and the TV didn't work. The water ran so slowly that filling a bucket took 10 minutes. They gave us hand towels instead of bath towels, then said they don't provide towels. The doors, bathroom, and TV weren't working properly.
