Namami Ganges Resort

For what we paid, it felt more like a 4-star stay than a 3-star one. The room was much larger than expected, very clean, and had a comfortable bed. The location worked well, about a five-minute walk from the main market. There was hot water, and breakfast was tasty with a good range of choices. The staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks especially to Raj at the front desk for upgrading our room at no extra cost. I’d definitely come back.

The river view is the reason to book here. The Ganges looks beautiful, blue-green against the lower Himalayas, and the hotel has lovely outdoor space where you can sit with the view or walk along the beach. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the service was amazing. The rooms were clean too. Breakfast starts at 8 am, and I recommend including it. It’s a peaceful place, about a 30-minute drive from Rishikesh. We went white-water rafting on the longer 38 km trip from Kodiyala. India at her best.

The food was so good, especially the veg food and gulab jamun at lunch, which really lifted the mood. The gorgeous, holy Ganga water is hard to look away from. You can go down to the riverbank for Maggie, meditate, or just enjoy your time. It’s calm and quiet, and worth the trip from dehradun, even though it’s half an hour from main city, Rishikesh. I’ve already come twice in two weeks. I suggest staying at least one day.

The location is right on the ganga river, and they set up zula chairs with lots of places to sit and watch gangaji. Food is excellent, and the staff are very polite. A very, very nice stay, highly recommended.
