Club 7 Beach Resort

We booked this at the last minute after another reservation was cancelled, and it was the only option left. For ₹2800 we got a non-AC room, already a compromise, and the stay didn't justify the cost. The staff and manager were polite and helpful, and the beach-facing bungalow setup has potential, but the room was in very poor shape. It smelled bad, the linen and amenities felt low-budget, with ₹5 basic soap and a ₹1 shampoo sachet, and it wasn't maintained well. We were asked to leave the balcony doors open, so mosquitoes and insects came in and sleeping comfortably was nearly impossible. The sea-facing view wasn't really enjoyable, and the ground-floor room didn't help. The bathroom tap didn't work properly, and the fan in the dining area wasn't working well either. Breakfast was okay, idli, upma, watermelon, and coffee, but it couldn't make up for the rest. At a similar price in Kannur, Anansa The Boutique Hotel Kannur Club gave us much better rooms, hygiene, and comfort. This felt like a compromise, not a relaxing beach stay, and wasn't worth the price.

The resort staff, including Uday, were truly excellent, and the food was quite good. The rooms have beautiful sea views, and the property is neat and clean. The lawn could use better upkeep for kids to play, though. Thottada Beach was clean and very uncrowded, making it a great place to spend time with family.

We loved our stay. The spot right on the beach is calm and relaxing, and the balcony view is amazing. The staff were so nice, and the food was good too.

This feels like an oasis beside an almost deserted beach, and the view from our balcony was exquisite with the beach just across the path. We even spotted dolphins, and don't miss the sunset. The rooms are basic but clean, with a lovely big bed and fresh sheets. It's remote, which is part of its appeal, about 30 minutes from the station by tuk-tuk, currently around R350-400. We had lovely home-cooked food here one night; the next night Udi arranged a delivery, and beer is available. Breakfast was included, delicious, and plentiful. Udi and the team were a delight and so helpful. We left a small bag in the tuk-tuk that dropped us off and thought it was gone for good, but Udi called around, contacted the police for us, and they tracked it down. The driver brought it back, and we were so grateful for their kindness. Udi is an absolute star. Such a relaxing stay, and I only wish we'd stayed longer.
