The staff were kind and courteous, and came to help whenever we asked. We also had a travel agency cab arranged through the hotel for a full day, taking us to kanyakumari and back and around the sights nearby. Thanks to the driver, we covered a lot in one day. Getting an uber might have been less convenient. We had a beautiful experience, and the food was delicious.

The lounge had only a few amenities, but they were satisfactory. Parking was convenient, and both the reservation and check-in were quick and smooth. Housekeeping did a good job. One gap compared with places like Regency Pandian or ITC is that there’s no dedicated accommodation for drivers.

The food was the biggest letdown for me. I stayed three nights with breakfast and dinner included, but the menus barely changed. Breakfast felt repetitive and the desserts were the same each day. I can’t say whether any food was reused, but the limited variety was clear. Both breakfast and dinner tasted average at best, and sometimes below average. The rooms were reasonably comfortable, much like those at other three-star hotels in the same price range. They’re a bit dated, though still maintained acceptably, and there’s nothing particularly memorable about the property. The swimming pool is quite small. I also saw staff encouraging guests to post Google reviews on the spot, which might help explain the high ratings. I wouldn’t give it one star, but it didn’t live up to those ratings either. I’d look at other options in this price range.

We had a happy lunch together, the four of us, with an excellent buffet and attentive staff. Afterwards, we spent a little time in the lobby. This was our third visit to Cafe Jade, and we’d come again.
