Palmleaves Beach Resort

The property should be good, but poor maintenance made our August stay really bad. The beachside seating area had no lights and was completely dark later. They eventually fixed one light, but the owner or manager didn’t respond or answer the call. Breakfast was meant to be complimentary, but wasn’t available until 10.15 am, so we had to go out to eat.

The grounds and pool need better upkeep, and food has to be ordered ahead. Still, the setting is breathtaking and makes for a peaceful, scenic break from city traffic. The beachside open area is large and would be great for parties or gatherings. The location is stunning, better than many popular resorts.

I got a nice room with a balcony facing the beach and a clean, new bathroom. Walking along the beach was awesome. Mr Mathew, the owner, was very kind. The resort is well located and very inexpensive.

I paid the full amount in advance, which turned out to be a big mistake. The service was poor, nobody took responsibility, and the place felt unsafe. I can’t recommend Palm Leaves Beach Resort to anyone looking for a peaceful or happy stay. The owner was rude and unhelpful from the start, with no real hospitality or assistance. There was no water in the swimming pool, no lighting around it, and no staff around when we needed help. Street dogs could freely enter the premises, which felt especially unsafe for families with children. During a power outage there was no backup generator. When we called, the owner just said, “Power has gone, we can't do anything,” and showed no concern. We were left sitting in the dark with only our phone flashlights.
