Ramana encouraged us to try the buffet, and I'm glad he did. I was doubtful because food at star hotels can be bland to suit international tastes, but we were genuinely surprised by how good the Indian meal was. The food was amazing. Ramana was polite and courteous, and his honest suggestion deserves thanks. Our stay at Fortune was pleasant, and we'd recommend Fortune Grand ridge to fellow travelers visiting Tirupati for a peaceful, hassle-free stay.

We had a lovely stopover before visiting Tirumala. The room was comfortable, with a soft mattress and pillows, and the staff were professional and always smiling. Sharda, the head of housekeeping, quickly arranged a check when we noticed a small leak. Ranjith, Rinku, Gayathri, Aaati, Silpi, Masidul, Balaji Naik, Jigdeesh, and Kangana all deserve a mention for their good work. The problem was the two rooms next door: noisy children kept their doors open, and although we told reception three times, nothing was done.

Way too expensive for the service they provide, and nowhere near a 5-star hotel. There were so many mosquitoes in the lobby that it was hard to sit there for even five minutes. The bathrooms were small and smelled bad, and the floor lobbies stank too. Smaller hotels are better. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

The free breakfast had very few options, nowhere near enough to justify the nightly room cost, and the food was priced like a 5-star place despite being poor quality. My roti was partly cooked and the dal had no salt. Service was also lacking: room service would acknowledge a request but not follow through. The door wouldn't stay open unless someone held it. They call themselves 5-star, but the service felt more like 2 or 3 stars. They really need to live up to the ITC name.

Even a basic dish like dal had no flavor. The food was extremely disappointing, and it makes me question the cooking crew's experience. I won't eat at their restaurant again.
