SM Residency

I left at first daylight, thankfully with my own small towel and bedsheet. The fresh bath towel the reception guy promised never arrived, even after I waited 20 minutes and went back to ask. He was on his phone and watching cricket, and told me he could give it in the morning. Apparently getting a towel during the stay was too much to ask. The room itself was in bad shape. There was no soap, a large-moustached cockroach, and the towel, bedsheet and pillow cover all looked used, with hair scattered over the bedding. Someone had tried to make them look fresh, but hadn't done it properly. When I raised this, the man at reception insisted everything was clean, though he eventually agreed the towel needed replacing. I arrived around 08:30 p.m. on 15Feb2026. This is a small property, perhaps two rooms per floor and six in all, squeezed between other buildings. The first floor was dark, so I used my phone to open the door's old, small self-locking padlock. The reception person seemed keen to get back to the cricket after handing me the key. It felt like they had run out of money during renovation, judging by how cheap many things seemed. There didn't seem to be anyone else on housekeeping that day, so the reception guy tried to prepare the room without clean sheets, pillow covers or a bath towel, and even that was only half done. I'd avoid the place. I hope I don't run into another one like it.
