OYO 60246 Viji Bharathi Guest House

We arrived at nearly 11 pm after walking to this isolated spot, where autos wouldn't come, and found Viji Bharti Guest house shut. We'd booked two rooms through OYO for four women. Nearby people told us it had been nonfunctional for almost two years, yet bookings were still being taken. We had told them when we'd arrive, but nobody answered the number we'd been given. OYO supplied a Manager's number that couldn't be reached, then a helpline, and it took several rounds of calls before they understood our situation. We were distraught and didn't know what to do, so we went to the local police station and reported what had happened. After a lot of persuasion, OYO refunded us. I didn't expect this kind of professionalism from OYO, and found them very irresponsible. How can OYO keep these people under its wing? We also heard from police that illegal activities had taken place there. We learned many others had booked, found the place closed on arrival, and left. I wonder why they didn't complain to police, since that might have spared others the same trouble. Be very cautious and don't book here. People are being cheated and fleeced. It deserves no stars, if only that were an option.

There are mountain views at the back, and the place is reasonably close to Ramanashram and Temple. Food could be tricky, though Swiggy delivers. The corridors feel a little cramped, but the rooms are new and the staff pleasant. It feels more like a converted hotel apartment, with modern amenities such as warm water, TV, and cupboards. A budget stay for the price.

Think carefully before booking this hotel through OYO. It's at the end of a street with poor roads and no vehicles for convenient travel, so walking is your only option. The receptionist's idea of kindness was strange: he hid the names of people who had booked online and openly said all the rooms were full. He also didn't know OYO support's number. He showed my wife and me out very harshly. This happened in the afternoon, which was bad enough. If it happened to someone new to the city, especially a woman, at midnight, who would take responsibility?

Even one star feels generous for this awful hotel. Management was arrogant and careless, with no respect for guests. There was no lift, the AC had no remote, and the geyser wasn't connected to power. Even local auto drivers don't know the place, since it's in an unfamiliar area.
