Olive Resorts

The resort’s strongest points are its location near Sillari gate, decent accommodation, and staff who worked hard through the May heat. The villas are roomy, some have private lawn pools, and the Divine villas have a bedroom, sitting room, and attached bathroom. The two ACs were a real help, though the bedroom unit seemed worn out from overtime. Housekeeping was responsive, and the golf cart made getting around easier. The common pool, game rooms, and large lawn are nice extras. For an early safari, they provide a good-sized breakfast portion rather than the full buffet. Food is average, but the spread is filling, and the restaurant is clean. Buffet guests may find the managers fussy about timing, though they do give reminders. The daytime reception was the real drawback. Two employees there were rude and insulting when we asked for just 30 minutes past checkout while waiting for our ride. They offered no answers or solutions and spoke in a scathing, derogatory tone. The older man who looks like a Bank Manager was quite nice, though. The night-duty employee wasn’t great either, but he did arrange our safari wake-up calls, so he was better than the two on day shift. We went in the last week of May, and the heat was fierce. Olive Resorts is still a good option, perhaps the best near Sillari gate, but those two staff members kept the stay from being great. For the price, I’d give it 7.5/10 at best.
