Brahma Niwas - Luxury Lake View Hotel with Infinity Pool, Udaipur

Dinner on the open-air terrace by the lake was a real highlight, and the food was excellent. Service was good, though at times it ran a little slow. We visited during the busy Christmas period, so it didn’t feel like a major issue. Room service could also be quicker, and parking is limited, with cars needing to be left outside the property. The rooftop infinity pool is small, but the view up there makes up for it. Brahma Niwas sits right beside the lake, and the evening scenery is beautiful. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and had a pleasant feel, with a lovely lake view to wake up to. I had no complaints overall, and the views, food, and atmosphere made for a very enjoyable stay. I’d recommend it to families and couples wanting a peaceful lake-view stay in Udaipur.

The hotel is a little outside the city center, which made it quiet and peaceful. The Royal Heritage Suite was roomy and comfortable, with a large terrace and lovely views of the smaller lake from both the balcony and bedroom. Wi-Fi worked fine in the room. The pure vegetarian restaurant was excellent, with tasty food and attentive service. Breakfast was good too, especially the dosa made fresh at the live cooking station on the terrace. The rooftop is lovely, with weekend live music and views of the lake and rising moon. There’s also a beautiful infinity pool, though it was too cold to use in January.

A Rajasthani cultural evening with traditional music and dance brought a lovely local touch to our stay. Brahma Niwas is a charming heritage property that captures Udaipur’s royal feel, with spacious, well-kept rooms in a classic haveli style. The staff were courteous and helpful, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. It’s in a great location, and I’d highly recommend it for an authentic Udaipur stay.

We stayed from November 21 to 23. The grounds, ambience, and rooms were nice, and the surroundings were good, though the location is somewhat remote. What went wrong was the service. Staff acted as if they were happy to help, but we felt they didn’t care and only cooperated on their own terms. The room’s air conditioning wasn’t working. Reception, housekeeping, and the manager said the room was set to central heating because Udaipur was cold. That didn’t make sense to us, since daytime temperatures were around 30 to 32 degrees and nights about 24 to 27. They said they could adjust the room temperature, but it didn’t help. We asked to change rooms and were rudely refused. We had paid 17.5k for two nights and expected the services offered in the terms and conditions, but felt ignored. With the fans also not running at a reasonable speed, our family was sweating at night. On checkout, I asked for a complaint register or logbook and was told they had no such record. I felt cheated over the air conditioning and the refusal to move us. I’m trying to find an official place to file a complaint and request a refund. I didn’t take action earlier, but I suspect others may have had similar experiences. I wouldn’t choose this hotel in the semi-summer months, such as October or November. If anyone knows an official platform for a legal complaint, please share it.
