OYO 2224 Hotel Shalimar Palace

For 1400/-, I got a delux ac room, and the hotel was the best I’ve stayed at in this price range compared with my recent stays in jodhpur, Jaisalmer and jaipur. The service was particularly good, and getting around from there was easy. The staff were nice, and you can rent a bike. This is a genuine review, not sponsored.

We liked the friendly staff and comfortable feel at Shalimar Hotel. For a better room, I’d choose Duplex or Premium, since the Standard rooms aren’t as impressive. The location is a big plus: the station, sights, and local attractions are close, all within 1-2 km. We stayed three days and had a good time overall. The rental scooty setup could be better. It costs ₹400 per day, but you have to bring it back by 8 PM regardless of when you picked it up. Even taking it at 10 AM doesn’t get you a full 24 hours. Check-in is at 12 PM, and check-out is strictly by around 10:30 AM. If your train, bus, or flight is delayed, even an extra hour costs more. I understand the policy, though a one-hour grace period would help travellers. Aside from these inconveniences, the hotel is comfortable and well located, and we’d recommend it to couples or families visiting the city.

Mr. Prem was especially attentive and welcoming, and his help made a real difference during my stay at Shalimar Palace, Udaipur. The rest of the staff were polite and prompt too, making things smooth. The hotel felt comfortable, well kept, and warm. I’m happy with my experience and would recommend it to people visiting Udaipur.

The helpful staff and clean, if small, rooms were the better parts of my stay. The rooms are just okay and the hotel sits in a congested part of Udaipur. There’s no restaurant, but they do room service, so breakfast is covered. For other meals, there are plenty of good restaurants nearby.
