Fabhotel The Castle Homestay I

The rooms were a good size and had potential, and the manager seemed friendly. I was told service was reduced because of a staff shortage, but cleanliness and service were still lacking. Requested water bottles took ages, management seemed confused, the wifi never worked, and the flush broke.

The attendant was a good person, but had limits in what he could do. You can get tea, while food means finding something outside or ordering through Zomato or another delivery service. The rooms are tiny, with hardly any space for luggage. You have to ask for basics like water and even the towel that should be there at check-in. Cleanliness and hygiene were zero: stained towels, bedsheets and pillows, a dirty balcony, a broken geyser, and taps with no pressure or needing cleaning. There was no empathy about extending our stay a little, even though we had no arrival, and we were asked to pay more than the price we’d paid through the online TA.

The polite gentleman at reception made my stay comfortable. It’s a simple, no-frills place, clean throughout, with parking space. The location is away from the busy tourist areas, but still not too far.

The owners helped me plan local sightseeing, which saved me time, and the staff were polite. It’s a budget-friendly option for families, with well-furnished rooms and the basic amenities. Parking is available, and the room service and tea were superb. A hotel I’d recommend in udaipur.
