Hostel Crown Udaipur

We were two 21-year-old girls on our first three-day trip alone, and we felt safe here. The owner was kind, offered help, and suggested places to visit and the best ways to get there. We booked an air-conditioned room with a private bathroom at a more than reasonable price. I can’t speak for the hostels, but our room was comfortable. It’s a great deal for budget travellers, which left us with more to spend on fancy dinners and other experiences. The old city location worked perfectly. Most good places were walkable or a short cab ride away. On day one we walked to jagdish temple and hathipol market, and each night we walked to sit by the pichola lake side. The terrace has a good view of pichola lake, especially at night. They don’t provide food, but with places to eat just minutes away on foot, that wasn’t much of a problem. The ambrai restaurant with its amazing lake view is right next door, about a minute’s walk. For a fancy dinner, book at least 2-3 days ahead because it fills up quickly. I’d recommend this for young people or women on a tight budget. If you care a lot about aesthetics, want an instagrammable stay, or plan to spend most of your time at the hotel, it may not be for you.

The rooftop gives a beautiful view of Lake Pichola, and the dorms were comfortable. The staff were really helpful and arranged an auto for me early in the morning to get to the airport. Thanks, Hostel Crown!

Nothing good to mention. There’s no lift, the washroom isn’t clean or properly equipped, and the fans either don’t work or can’t be adjusted. Water leaks from the geysers, and the rooms aren’t cleaned at all. The staff seem completely unconcerned about the place or its service.

Staying here was the worst mistake I’ve made. There’s no cleanliness or proper management, and the staff communicate without basic manners. The service is awful, and I’d never recommend booking this hotel. Please don’t stay here.
